What is temporary spelling and what does it mean for your kindergartener?
We start at the beginning
As we learn new sounds and sound combinations in kindergarten, I will encourage students to write using the sounds as we have learned them. At the beginning of the English writing process, we will not be using the more advanced spelling rules. Being able to put onto paper the letters and sounds that they have been taught will make kindergartener’s confidence soar as they decode and ‘sound out’ words!
